Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ Sebagai kelanjutan dari Zeta Gundam, seri ini sekali lagi mengikuti kisah Argama. Kapal perang Anti Earth Union Group (AEUG) setelah Kamille mengalahkan Paptimus Scirocco. Untuk melawan Axis Zeon, yang sekarang disebut Neo Zeon. Kapten Bright Noa merekrut sekelompok “pengumpul sampah” remaja yang dipimpin oleh Newtype; Judau Ashta. Sekarang memakai deretan MSZ-010 Double Zeta Gundam raksasa dan MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam yang kembali, RX-178 Gundam Mk-II dan Hyund Shiki MSN-00100 yang mirip Gundam, grup ini dijuluki Tim Gundam. Dengan demikian, ini menjadi yang pertama dari sejumlah seri Gundam di mana tim mobile suit Gundam saling bertarung secara teratur. Puncaknya terjadi di Side 3 di Pertempuran Axis.
